Self-regulation in preschoolers looks like sitting still for long periods of time, listening attentively, and learning to label emotions.

Is your child getting too much screen time? Experts suggest no more than one hour for children ages 2-5, and time should always be supervised.

Provide your child with other activities!

The Montessori method develops self-confidence and leadership. Our students are free to make independent choices through the guidance of nurturing teachers.

Nurture your child’s love for reading by taking them to the library or a bookstore. Storytelling promotes brain development, sparks imagination, and develops language skills.

If you have questions about our learning approach or our classrooms, we’re happy to help. Contact us to schedule a tour, and one of our enrollment specialists will get in touch with you.

Happy International Women’s Day!
These powerful leaders create global educational experiences daily for our little Montessorians. MKU Shavano celebrates you today and everyday!

Teaching emotional regulation helps children recognize their feelings and practice self-soothing techniques like deep breaths and self-talk to calm down.

Happy Holi to everyone celebrating the event of Holi! May this festival of colors bring joy, laughter and peace to you and your family.

Come join our family! We have immediate openings for full time teachers. Montessori certification provided along with other great benefits!

Montessori Kids Universe curriculum opens the child’s mind to art, science, technology, language, and math. Set your child up for life-long academic success.

You don’t need expensive toys to encourage creativity in your child. Get crafty with everyday objects like cardboard, glue, ribbons, and newspaper.

Wondering if Montessori Kids Universe is right for your little one? Contact us to schedule a tour, and one of our enrollment specialists will be in touch soon.

Curiosity is a valuable learning tool. We encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and challenge their own understanding to foster a love of learning for life.

“Since starting my son there, I have seen him grow in all aspects. We’re nurturing his love of learning and exploration with the Montessori techniques and he's doing so well. What other 3 year old can name all their colors, count to 20 in English, 10 in Spanish and read their ABCs?” - Chantae C.

Children are naturally curious. At Montessori Kids Universe, we encourage them to explore, ask questions and love to learn.

Art for toddlers and preschoolers isn’t about beauty or perfection– it’s about exploration and personal expression.

From the time a child is born, they are learning and absorbing at every waking moment.

“Dropped our daughter off for the first time today and feel so grateful for the team. Everyone is kind and has made us feel so comfortable. You can tell they really believe in the school and investment into the children that it provides!” - Spenser D.

Happy Presidents Day!

Fun fact: Abraham Lincoln famously stored letters and documents in his tall stove-piped hat.

How do children learn?

By playing, observing, copying, and trying new things.

Practical life activities prepare kids for greater independence and self-reliance in daily tasks, and develop deeper concentration and attention.

Bienvenida Miss Monica!!
On behalf of our team at MKU Shavano, we’d like to welcome back one of our beloved teachers! Our Koalas along with our other students and staff have missed her dearly and are so thankful to have her return safely from a successful surgery.

Once again we want to extend our gratitude towards all of our MKU Families who have contributed to the GoFundMe account created for Monica.

Please help us welcome Miss Monica 💗😊

Mealtimes are an opportunity for students to learn social and self-help skills. They are encouraged to set the table, clear their plates, wash their hands, use utensils, and enjoy conversation.

"We’ve had our toddler in this amazing school since he was 18 months. He’s had the most wonderful experience and speaks so highly of his teachers. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a warm, caring, and stimulating atmosphere for their little ones” - Amal R.

The Montessori curriculum is designed to give children opportunities to explore and use their imagination, while diving in-depth into subjects and concepts.

Coming Soon, the very first area Montessori Kids Universe opens right here in San Antonio, Texas for ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten.

Montessori Kids Universe Shavano (MKUS) offers families an innovative alternative to traditional childcare through integrated Montessori & Reggio Inspired curriculum, DaVinci Kids. We provide a Spanish immersion model that is different from all daycare and existing Montessori schools in today’s marketplace. MKU incorporates the best application of several curriculums. We provide these in a format that is structured to meet the needs of working parents along with those who are seeking a half-day program of enrichment for their children.

Our proprietary curriculum utilizes Maria Montessori’s time-tested curriculum. One that has successfully enhanced children’s learning abilities for the past 110 years.

Then we improve it by incorporating Reggio Emilia’s use of the Art of Science, to enhance a child’s development in creativity and Science for critical thinking and discovery. The Reggio Emilia approach is an educational philosophy focused on preschool and primary education. The curriculum is based on principles of respect, responsibility, and community through exploration and discovery in a supportive and enriching environment based on the interests of the children through a self-guided curriculum.
