Throw back to May! 🌸 Rear Adm. Walter Brafford, Commander, Naval Medical Forces Development Command and Chief of the U.S. Navy Dental Corps, joined leaders at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to celebrate the graduation of 32 military dental officers during the Naval Medical Leader and Professional Development Command's Naval Postgraduate Dental School's (NPDS) 103rd Graduate Dental Education Programs Certificate and Awards Ceremony.
U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and United States Air Force dental officers completed intensive residencies and fellowships ranging from one to four years in specialty areas including Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Endodontics, Periodontics, Prosthodontics, and Orofacial Pain. Additionally, 20 graduates earned their Master of Science degrees from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS).
NPDS equips dental officers with cutting-edge clinical expertise, advanced research skills, and operational leadership. These newly minted specialists are now heading to assignments across the globe—aboard ships, with operational Marine Corps units, and at military medical treatment facilities—ensuring our warfighters remain medically ready anytime, anywhere.
