Congrats to Jessicca Rene Spears for earning her blue belt Saturday afternoon.

And EARN it she did.

We're all very proud of her and how far she's come since starting her escrima journey.

I've been playing around with training tool setups for a while.

All of the tools are commonly used in FMA or other combative/fitness spaces.

What I've wanted to do is put together something more customizable, rather having multiple "stations".

This is geared more towards the solo practitioner and/or small group training formats.

For anyone curious, interested and unfamiliar with what this is about:

It's an opportunity for practitioners of any martial arts style, particularly the Filipino-based arts, to come together and spar.

It's an opportunity to share and test ideas with new people.

It's an opportunity to gain a broader perspective: of yourself and your art and the art others bring with them.

It's an opportunity to test each other.

It's an opportunity to get outside, hang out and have some fun.
