STEAM Central Makerspace STEAM Central is a community makerspace in the Stephens Central Library.

STEAM Central provides free access to a variety of amazing equipment and software for creative projects and hobbies, available by appointment for anyone with a Tom Green County Library card. STEAM Central also hosts several circulating collections, including board games, video games, and musical instruments. To inquire about STEAM Central and its services, feel free to visit during our regular opening hours, call us on the phone (325-655-7321), or send an email to a staff member.

Join us for a day filled with as much crafting and socializing as you want. Bring your lunch, snacks, friends, and most importantly, your projects. We will have plenty of wall sockets and table space to accommodate various creations.

-No late entry after 4:30pm (when the library closes its front doors).

Discover what lies beneath the surface, in Watercolor Fossils, we’ll “bury” our fossil designs with drawing gum, paint over them like layers of "earth", and then reveal the hidden shapes underneath.

Mayer Museum Dinosaur Story Time

Join us in the children's story room for a very special Dinosaur Story Time with the Mayer Museum. They will bring specimens and lead families through a dinosaur-themed art activity.
