Every Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 am, we gather in the Story Room at Stephens Central for stories and music for preschoolers aged 2-4.

Join us for a day filled with as much crafting and socializing as you want. Bring your lunch, snacks, friends, and most importantly, your projects. We will have plenty of wall sockets and table space to accommodate various creations.
-No late entry after 4:30pm (when the library closes its front doors).

A Short Story Summer

Looking to hone your writing skills? Each meeting, we’ll focus on another set of key storytelling skills such as character creation, setting the scene, and how to put it all together. By the end of camp, you'll have your own short story!

Are you between the ages of 9 and 12 and looking for some fun and friends this summer?
Join us in the Story Room every Tuesday at 2:00--we'll have a different activity or craft to try each week.

You don't have to stay the entire time--this is a come-and-go program for tweens.
Skills used/practiced/learned: draw, paint, build, cut, write, glue, sculpt, sing, share.

Tots & Blocks

Story Room
Join us on Monday mornings for an hour of fun building and getting to know one another. This program encourages the use of block play for developmental and social growth in young children. We'll carefully stack pieces together, knock them down, and do it all over again!

This is a come-and-go program for children ages 1 – 4 years old with adult; siblings welcome. Registration not required.

Family LEGO Club

Calling all blockheads!

If you love LEGO and are looking to meet other builders this summer, join us for 90-minutes of pure fun every Monday night--we're pulling out the bricks for Family LEGO Club. Can't get here by 5 or stay till 6:30? This is a drop-in group--you are welcome to come and go any time between 5-6:30.

This program uses standard small LEGOs and is best suited for ages 6+.

Amazing Race 2026: Dinosaur Expedition
June 23 – 25, 2026

Race to all 3 Tom Green County Libraries in a span of 3 days, on a dinosaur expedition! Bring the family, for these challenges will test the abilities and creativity of all ages.

Track your progress via provided logs. Finish the race at North Angelo Branch Library for a reward!

Watercolor Fossils

Inspired by the 2026 Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) theme "Unearth a Story", which focuses on archaeology, paleontology, geology, and local history.
Discover what lies beneath the surface, in Watercolor Fossils, we’ll “bury” our fossil designs with drawing gum, paint over them like layers of "earth", and then reveal the hidden shapes underneath.

Sit and Play Babies Playgroup

Calling all babies and toddlers aged 0-3 years old!

If you have a caregiver who needs to get out of the house and meet new adults, consider bringing them to our weekly Sit and Play Babies Playgroup. We will open the Story Room for an hour and a half each Tuesday morning for you and your family to play, read, and make new friends. Registration not required.

This program supports families with babies and toddlers.
