🎵 Music & Movement at Major Milestones! 🎵

Today the little one. explored the joy of music through hands-on play and becoming a one-man-band! 🥁✨ From tapping drums and shaking bells to discovering different sounds and rhythms, music time is about so much more than making noise.

Music and movement help infants:
🎶 Build listening skills
🥁 Strengthen hand-eye coordination
🎵 Develop cause-and-effect understanding
💃 Encourage movement and gross motor development
😊 Support social-emotional growth and self-expression

Watching his face light up as they create their own music is always a highlight of my day! 🩷

Today we explored colorful pinwheels and practiced an important early childhood skill—blowing! 💨 Yes, that’s learned skill!

Blowing helps little ones strengthen the muscles in their mouths, cheeks, and lips, which supports future speech development and oral motor skills. It also teaches cause and effect as they discover that their breath can make the pinwheel spin! ✨

The babies had so much fun watching the colors twirl while practicing taking big breaths and blowing with purpose. And yes we had to see how fast the pinwheels could spin using a fan 😂. Activities like this turn learning into play one spin at a time! 💛🌈

To those of us who wipe tears before we’ve had our coffee, who can soothe a baby with one hand while making lunch with the other, who celebrate first words, first steps, and every tiny milestone like it’s our own child’s… today is for us. 🩷

To the childcare providers who pour endless patience, love, energy, and heart into children day after day, thank you! What we do isn’t “just babysitting.” We are teachers, comforters, protectors, cleaners, snack makers, storytellers, problem solvers, and safe places for so many little ones.

The days are long, messy, loud, and exhausting sometimes, but the impact we make lasts a lifetime. Never underestimate how important you are in a child’s world!

Happy Childcare Provider Appreciation Day to all of the amazing providers out there. The work you do matters more than words can say. 🫶🏼

Today’s activity: scooping, pouring, and color matching fun! 🎨🥣

Our little learners explored using spoons and cups to scoop and pour, building hand-eye coordination and strengthening those fine motor skills. As they played, a color-matching twist was added—encouraging them to notice, sort, and connect colors as they moved items from one container to another.

Activities like this may look simple, but they support so many important skills:
• Coordination and control
• Early problem-solving
• Color recognition
• Focus and independence

Plus… it’s just plain fun 😊🩷

Learning through play is always the goal!
