Pacific Learning Academy

Pacific Learning Academy Enhance your transcript & protect your GPA through the power of 1-on-1 accredited courses! All subjects offered for middle and high school level.

Pacific Learning Academy is a state-approved and regionally accredited 1-to-1 school serving students in Sammamish (and the world, online!). We assist in designing and delivering individualized educational programs for each student, whether they are attending public school, private school, or homeschool. A student may take just one class through the Academy, or all classes necessary for a WA state

diploma. We provide the core curriculum and electives as outlined by the state, but allow flexibility under individualized educational plans for both gifted and struggling learners to work at their own pace and to earn credits through proven mastery. We offer all-subject tutoring, single courses, dual enrollment, and graduation. Academy instructors meet their students in family homes in Sammamish and Issaquah, at our Sammamish school office, local libraries, and online (live/remote).

Doing everything but the assignment? Some of us get stuck at the starting line.

ADHD can make task initiation surprisingly difficult, especially when the work feels boring, confusing, or overwhelming.

This isn't a tourniquet - no need to apply pressure! Finding that first small step can transform "ADHD stuck" to .

Motivation is elusive. Momentum is easier.

We're proud to support the Issaquah Schools Foundation's Tools for School program again this year, helping make sure every student has the backpack and supplies they need to start the year ready to learn. 🎒

Access to the right tools shouldn't be a barrier to a great education, and we're grateful to be part of a community that shows up for its students.

Want to get involved or learn more about their work? Check out the Issaquah Schools Foundation and consider joining us in supporting local students: https://isfdn.org/

Your student isn't lazy. Their brain's management system might just be overloaded.

"Try harder" assumes the problem is effort. Often, the real issue is executive functioning: the mental skills that help us plan, get started, organize, manage time, and follow through. When that system is overloaded, school can feel much harder than it should, even for smart, capable kids.

The goal isn't to fix your student. It's to help them build systems that make follow-through easier.

Like driftwood, people are shaped by experiences other people can’t always see. The students we teach aren’t unfinished. They’re carrying a history. Our job is to become a positive part of the story they’re still writing.

We have the privilege of helping write the next chapter.

Some students are asked to remember more than their working memory can reliably hold. 🧠

Assignments, deadlines, materials, test dates, what worked last time — an "external brain" is any trusted place where that information lives outside your student's head.

A planner, a notes app, a whiteboard. The specific tool matters less than the consistency.

Rest is as important to our brains as studying! What do you do to give yourself (and your brain) a break?

Five years out, and the numbers still aren't where they should be. Reading's inched closer to recovery, math is still lagging behind.

If that tracks with what you're seeing at home, you're not imagining it. It's not about effort. It's about pace.

We'll walk you through what closing that gap could look like for your student: pacificlearningacademy.com
