A Minnesota teenager accused of shooting two other teens at a high school homecoming game was back on the street on Saturday, just two days after his arrest.

Adam Abdihakeem Adam, 18, walked out of Hennepin County, Minnesota, Jail after posting a no-condition bond, despite facing multiple felony assault charges for allegedly opening fire outside Eden Prairie High School on October 2.

I’m on my way home from the 2026 Urban Self-Defense and Law Conference. This was my third year as a speaker and I’m invited back next year. The format for this one is different - smaller and more exclusive. If you want to eat pizza and drink bourbon with the speakers, this is the event for you.

This is all lecture and you are encouraged to dig into your material at a deeper level. “Crime and Criminals” went on for four hours instead of the normal 2-2.5 hours. Definitely a John Hearne mind dump.

Next year’s event will be around October 9–10, 2027.

We are living in interesting times regarding crime data. The FBI is showing significant drops in most categories. I want to see what the BJS has to say before celebrating.

One of the unanswered questions is how much increased immigration enforcement has potentially affected the numbers. At the risk of wearing an aluminum foil hat, the various governmental entities make knowing that number very difficult.

Our best glimpse comes from an unintentional release of New York state’s prison population data. Illegal immigrants made up at least 14% of the prison population while only making up just under 4% of the general population. Or about 3.5x their expected numbers.

I just saw data from Europe asking the same question. While the disparity isn’t as great in some countries, both France and Germany show the same over representation. For Germany, immigrants make up 26% of the population and 47% of the prison population. It’s greater in France where the immigrant population is 8% but the prison population is 24%. It should be noted that it is very hard to end up in prison in a European country.

Finally, it’s important to distinguish between illegal and legal immigrants. Many of the claims about the lower numbers for the U.S. don’t distinguish between the two. Lawful immigrants do commit crimes at a lower rate than the general population but illegal immigrants do not.

I'm back from a quick but amazing trip to Arizona to attend the 50th Anniversary of Gunsite Academy and to shoot their Alumni match. GunSite has truly become a world class venue and the place is barely recognizable since I first stepped foot on the ranch in 1997. I was able to see a bunch of old friends and make a few new ones. The event was incredible and I have no regrets save my actual match score. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get back for year 51.....

🛑 THIS SHOULD MAKE EVERY AMERICAN FURIOUS.

The man now accused of murdering Kentucky State Police Trooper Hayden Phillips wasn’t someone with a minor record who made one bad decision.

Court records show he pleaded guilty to 23 criminal offenses stemming from home invasions, robberies, kidnappings, aggravated rapes and an assault.

He was sentenced to an effective 130 YEARS IN PRISON.

Read that again.

130 YEARS.

Yet somehow, on September 28, 2026, this man was allegedly back on the street — where authorities say a routine traffic stop ended with Trooper Hayden Phillips being shot and killed.

So here’s the question that deserves an answer:

HOW WAS HE FREE?

Not next month. Not after the headlines disappear. Not after another family buries a police officer.

NOW.

The public deserves to know exactly what happened between a 130-year prison sentence and this man being back in society.

Who approved it?
What legal action changed his sentence?
When was he released?
Why was he released?
And who believed putting him back on the street was acceptable?

Trooper Phillips went to work to protect Kentucky.

He should have gone home to his family.

Instead, Kentucky is mourning a trooper while his family is facing a loss that can never be undone.

If failures in the justice system put a violent offender back on the street, every person responsible for those decisions needs to answer for it.

No excuses.
No political spin.
No bureaucratic finger-pointing.

We want answers. We want accountability. And Trooper Hayden Phillips deserves both.

Rest easy, Trooper Phillips. 🩶🖤🩶
