Production sound mixing isn't easy, but Sean sure makes it look like it is.

Plus he's an experienced electrician, which comes in handy when we're trying to prevent our equipment from shorting out.

He never fails to befriend everyone on set, and his audio is always super crispy. We're pretty lucky to have him. 🎚🎛

That's a lie, we don't call it that.

But it does help us get some amazing footage - especially with the help of the Ronin 2 (not to mention this thing is tons of fun to use and looks super cool).

So in that sense, yeah, this thing is A BEAST.

We're going to cryogenically freeze Kaitlyn. 🥶🧊 That way she can be our makeup artist forever!

Even though we're not filming a zombie movie, or drowning actors in liquid latex, she always goes above and beyond to make everyone look good for this Hallmark movie that we're filming.

We're currently in the process of making a movie called Mr. Right.

It's basically a chick-flick with a predictable ending. (They kiss at the end, ride off into the sunset, etc.)

Making a feature length film often feels like climbing a huge mountain.

Even a relatively simple movie like this can be unpredictably complex behind the scenes. It takes many hours, tons of gaff tape, lights of all sizes, and a lot of endurance.

But we move forward by putting one foot in front of the other - together - as a team. 🎥

When life gets blurry, adjust your focus...
Because if you don't your footage will suck and your DP will kill you. 💀🎥

So here's a tip for keeping sharp focus:
Expect the unexpected.

It helps to know what movement to expect from actors, what lens your camera operator is using, and what his aperture is stopped at.

This way you know how shallow your focus will be, and what to focus on throughout each take.

Filming simple dialogue scenes like this is fun, but can be challenging to pull focus for with such shallow depth of field.

Luckily this scene didn't involve too much movement for our actors or the camera, so it ended up being pretty easy going.

Fun fact: This scene was supposed to be filmed outside, but it started raining, so we made it an impromptu interior scene.
