The NIFA SAFECON competition has concluded. We had a lot of fun this year and competed well! Time to get home and enjoy the summer.

Yesterday was the last day of competing for us. We completed all the Power-On landings and the remainder of message drop. Tonight is the awards banquet and we'll have an update on the final results!

Update (Day 3 & 4): Thursday's weather had us starting in the late afternoon due to high winds and low ceilings. In the meantime our Flight Team played softball with a couple of schools before getting back to the Navigation event and Message-Drop later in the day. Power-Off landings were completed today as we await to do the Power-On landings and the remainder of the Message-Drop event tomorrow!

The flight team completed all the ground events Tuesday and the Navigation event finished successfully yesterday. The landing events are planned for today and we're hoping for acceptable weather conditions.

The NIFA Flight Team has arrived in Ohio for the National competition! The first two days of practice are complete as the competition officially begins tomorrow!

The Flight Team has been busy preparing for Nationals this Spring! We leave for Ohio this weekend to compete!

The Westminster College Flight Team has once again, for the 4th consecutive year, quallified for the National Flight Competition in NIFA, placing 2nd!

We have some great pictures from this year's regional competition in Logan Utah!
The last few days have been long and enduring for our team as we overcame the elements and managed to complete all the events.
From the power on and power off landing events to NAV, our teammates have strong confidence in their performance along with other events such as preflight, ground trainer, and message drop.
We're all excited as we await the awards banquet tonight!

Our week here at the National SAFECON 2016 event is now officially over. Here are our results:

We are all now looking forward to bringing what we have received back to Salt Lake for everyone else to see.

Our first Navigation heat is now ready to go! So, wish our Nav pilots and safety pilots smooth skies, accurate planning and sharp eyes to spot their checkpoints.
In other news, Republic Airways brought an Embraer 175 for all of us to enjoy. :)
