They say that time flies when you’re having fun, and that couldn’t be more true!

Today we’re celebrating 13 YEARS of empowering voices! 🎉 Can you believe it?!

In 2013, nine passionate singing teachers came together to do something revolutionary: create a training program that puts the singer first.

13 years later, IVA stands as a global community of dedicated teachers helping singers of all levels find their voice. From thousands of lessons taught to breakthroughs made in studios and on stages, this journey has been nothing short of extraordinary.

We’ve taught together, learned together, sung late night karaoke after conference together, and grown into a community that strives for excellence.

Thank you for being part of our story. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or just joined us, YOU are what makes this work meaningful. YOU are the core of it all.

Cheers to the coming years of helping singers sing better, safer, and more freely.

If you have an IVA story from the last 13 years, please share below! Let’s walk down memory lane together.

Today we celebrate one of the most powerful instruments in the world: the human voice!

As singing teachers, we have the honor of helping people discover what their voice can do and who they can be when they use it. We guide singers toward freedom, balance, and confidence, one lesson at a time. And that impact ripples far beyond the studio!

At IVA, we believe every voice is unique and capable of incredible growth when given the right tools, guidance, and environment. Today is a beautiful reminder of the work you do to make that possible.

So take a moment to celebrate:
The voices you teach
The voice you use
And the community you’re part of

Because when one voice is empowered, it inspires countless others. 💛

Happy World Voice Day!

If you’ve been watching our content for a while, there’s a good chance you already know you want more. Maybe you’re a voice teacher who wants to feel more confident in the studio. Maybe you’ve been quietly wondering if teaching is something you could actually do. Either way, Heather has a message for you.

Applications for our one-year Fundamentals of Teaching Singing program are open right now, and this is your sign to stop putting it off.
Here is what a year inside our program looks like:

➡️ Ear Training to sharpen your ability to identify what is happening in a student’s voice quickly and accurately.

➡️ Personal Vocal Development through one-on-one sessions with IVA Educators, because your voice is one of your most important teaching tools.

➡️ Teacher Training that gives you the core knowledge and practical strategies to guide students with confidence, not guesswork.

➡️ Elective Studies so you can tailor your learning to the areas that matter most to you.

➡️ Guest Speaker Webinars covering a broad range of topics to keep expanding your perspective as a teacher.

You will learn at your own pace, inside a cohort with a dedicated mentor who supports you from day one. You will not be doing this alone.

The question is not whether you can grow. The question is whether you are ready to commit to it!

Comment “GUIDE” below and we will send everything you need to know straight to your DMs. Applications close April 19, 2026 at midnight.

You walk into the studio, your student arrives, and every instinct says go — start the warmup, get into the lesson, use every minute. Sound familiar? 👀

But some of the most powerful teaching happens before your student ever sings a note.

Connection isn’t built through big moments. It’s built through small, consistent ones. breaks down three simple habits that can transform how your students show up in every single lesson:

1️⃣ Check in first. Ask how their voice feels, how their week has been. You’re teaching a person, not just a voice!

2️⃣ Celebrate effort and bravery, not just perfection. When a student reaches for that high note or tries something new and messy, honor the courage. They need to trust you in order to make mistakes in front of you.

3️⃣ Notice and adapt. Tension, distraction, low energy... sometimes the most powerful move is to slow down or shift gears. Connection is built in those micro-moments.

When students feel safe and seen, their learning deepens, and so does your teaching.

If this way of thinking about teaching resonates with you, we’d love to go deeper together. Comment “GUIDE” below and we’ll share how you can spend the next year building the kind of teacher you’ve always wanted to be, inside our May 2026 Cohort.

If you've ever left a lesson thinking "I don't actually know if that helped them," this is for you.

That gut-drop feeling after a lesson where nothing clicked. The student who keeps straining no matter what you try. The question you didn't know how to answer.

Here's the truth most teachers don't say out loud: this isn't a confidence problem. It's a knowledge problem. And knowledge is fixable!

At IVA, we built the Fundamentals of Teaching Singing program for this exact moment. For the teacher who is good but knows they could be better, and for the singer who wants to teach but doesn't know where to start.

In one year, you can go from second-guessing yourself to teaching with real clarity.

Applications for our May 2026 cohort are open until April 19. Learn more and apply here: https://vist.ly/4xngf
