Congratulations to all who trained hard all summer and tested for their next rank this week. Each of you elevated your own technical performance. Now we each set our personal goals and work hard with your mentor to meet those goals during the next three months. I'm excited to see your continued growth. Soo Bahk!

Let me guess.

School starts and family time ends.

Between pickup lines, homework, and dinner, the after-school hours are hard on the whole family.

Gone are the summer days of spending quality time together.

But we’ve solved that for you.

When you join our family classes, you’ll get:

🥋twice-weekly structured training together

🥋one hour of training and learning martial arts WITH your child rather than an hour of unproductive waiting

🥋Uniforms included in your training

We only have 5 family spots. Click the link in the comments to save your spot now.

Opening ceremonies of the 2026 USA Moo Duk Kwan National Festival began with something none of us will forget.

Verona performed both the American and Korean national anthems, accompanied by Elsie, Nathan, and Jace on violin and Esme on cello. Watching our own students carry that moment in front of the national membership — representing two nations, two traditions, and everything our art asks us to honor — was genuinely humbling.

Martial arts training is about far more than what happens on the floor. It's about the character and courage to stand up in front of a room and give something of yourself. These five did exactly that.
Thank you to their families, and to everyone who made this festival possible here in Salt Lake City.

It’s been a week since the 2026 National Festival wrapped here in Salt Lake City, and we’re still thinking about it.
Hosting this event was one of the proudest moments in WMAA’s history. People traveled from all over the country to be part of it, and for three days, this community came together to train, compete, teach, and celebrate 51 years of Moo Duk Kwan in the United States.
This year’s theme was Elevate, and when we look at this photo, that’s exactly what we see. Every person in this picture played a part in lifting this art a little higher, whether they were on the competition floor, teaching a seminar, judging a match, or simply cheering from the sideline.
Thank you to everyone who made the trip, and thank you to everyone who helped us host it. It was an honor to welcome you to Salt Lake City.
We’re already looking forward to what comes next.

We're doing something we've never done before.
Most martial arts programs take your kid while you sit along the sidelines and watch. We've done it that way for years too. This fall, we're putting you on the floor with them.

The Back-to-School Family Kickstart starts Tuesday, August 18 — the same week Salt Lake schools go back. Four weeks. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm. Parents and kids training side by side, in the same class, tying on a white belt for the first time together.

Family — $199, two uniforms included. Solo (kids 7+, teens, adults) — $99, one uniform included.

Ten family seats. Ten solo seats. That's it. Seats close Friday, August 14.
Twenty years of teaching has taught me one thing: the kids who stay are the ones whose parents are in it with them. Not cheering from a chair — in it.

Comment "SEAT" below or send us a message and we'll get you the details. 🥋
