Since 1976 Outdoor Adventures has been helping University of Utah students, faculty, staff, and local outdoor enthusiasts get outdoors and play. There are three distinct programs inside of Outdoor Adventures: Gear Rentals, Trips & Adventures, and The Summit Climbing Facility. uipment to meet your needs, be it winter, summer, or somewhere in between. If you are headed out to enjoy the beautiful areas Utah and its surroundings have to offer, come into Outdoor Adventures, and we will set you up with everything you need to get the most out of your trip. TRIPS & ADVENTURES: OA provides a variety of multi-day trips, day trips and clinics to the University of Utah community where participants can expect to see activities such as rock climbing, river rafting, cross country skiing, backcountry skiing, splitboarding, snowshoeing, canyoneering, ice climbing, stand up paddle boarding, camping and much more. The volunteer student trip leaders are in constant training to provide a safe and positive learning environment where students can develop their outdoor skills. THE SUMMIT CLIMBING FACILITY: The Summit is the new indoor rock climbing facility which opened its doors in January of 2015. It is housed within the Eccles Student Life Center which boasts 180,000 square feet of recreation, intramurals, fitness, outdoor adventures, aquatics, sport clubs, athletic training and massage among many other recreation opportunities. The Summit features a 54 foot climbing wall and a 13 foot bouldering wall equaling over 4,600 square feet of climbable service. Programs include an annual inter-collegiate climbing competition, top rope and lead belay clinics, family climbing hours and special events.
