When a student gets the right answer, do you know if they actually understood it — or got there some other way?

A correct answer looks the same on paper no matter how it got there.

Quick honest question, not a pitch: even with a rubric in hand, does checking those boxes ever feel a little more automatic by paper #40 than it did on paper #1?

Not asking if your rubric is good. Just whether using it carefully takes the same attention at the end of a stack as it does at the start.
