Additionally, I do research with microalgae and the Great Salt Lake, studying how arsenic affects their growth. Outside of school, I love to go to the gym, hike, and do art!”

“Growing up in SLC, I’ve always been fascinated by the Great Salt Lake and west desert. Now that those places are in danger, I want to do everything I can to help protect them. Applying environmental practices to the chemistry lab in the form of green chemistry is one way we can all help our planet.”

Next week, we will be hosting two fun Earth Week events, and attendees will receive a FREE swag bag!
On Wednesday 4/21 from 4-5 pm, we have “How to Live a Sustainable Life, In and Out of the Lab”
This event will go through good practices and steps you can take today to make your daily life more sustainable. First, we will focus on the lab and then move to the home. This event will consist of discussing provided information as well as workshop elements.
On Friday 4/23 from 4-5 pm, we have “Clean Chemicals”
Have you ever wondered what is in chemicals you use daily? Wonder no more! Attendees will participate in a DIY bath bomb-making activity as well as learn how soaps and other household chemicals work and their safety.
Feel free to attend both or just one of these events.
Regardless of how many you attend, registration will provide you with information on how to pick up your FREE GIFT BAG!
