The Rio Tinto Kennecott Environmental Team is looking for an Environmental Engineer Work Study to join their team on a part-time basis and assist in completing regulatory tasks and aid in larger projects involving air quality permitting requirements.

UPCOMING CONFERENCE - Air Quality: Science for Solutions

Air Quality: Science for Solutions is holding a one-day conference emphasizing scientific progress in the understanding of Utah's complicated and unique air quality issues.

When: March 30, 2017
Where: Downtown Salt Lake City Public Library
210 E 400 S, Salt Lake City
Time: Scientific Conference - 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Panel Discussion - 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

This is the first of an annual conference series organized by the University of Utah, Utah State University, Brigham Young University, Weber State University, and the Utah Division of Air Quality.

Thanks to the generosity of the conference sponsors, regular registration is only $10 if you register by March 15. After that time, late registration is $20.

Elections for the 2017 A&WMA Great Basin's Chapter are approaching and the board is looking for nominations to fill open positions. If you or someone that you know are interested, please send a nomination with a bio to Cassady ([email protected]).

The open positions and their terms are:
Communications – Two years
Vice chair – Three years with the position moving to chair and then past chair in each subsequent year
Programs – Two years
Treasurer – One year
Secretary – One year

The Great Basin Chapter of the Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is pleased to announce the 2016 – 2017 Scholarship Award Program to recognize outstanding students pursuing a career in air quality, waste management, environmental management/law, or sustainability.

Each selected student will be awarded a scholarship of up to $1,000 and one free student A&WMA memberships for 1 year.
