TWO engines with better performance & range! CFIs Tommy & Allie took advantage, gaining real world experience on a multi day trip through Montana, Idaho, Oregon & Nevada in the Seneca!
This could be you! Just another reason why Cornerstone Aviation goes above & beyond the minimums.

Two engines, twice the fun!
The Seneca is back up & running with a fresh overhaul, & students have definitely been enjoying the extra speed & range. Horseshoe Bend is a much shorter trip with the turbocharged engines, & makes for quite the adventure. Thanks Dan & Tyler for the submission ✈️

WHEELS UP TUESDAY 🛫 Meet Sofia!!!
Q: What got you in to flying?
A: I basically grew up in airports thanks to an international family. But the exact moment I knew I wanted to do this for a living was during an 8 year old solo trip from Madrid to Milan. The flight crew invited me into the cockpit mid-flight, and that was it. Seeing the world from the front office was absolute magic. I was hooked.
Q: Why did you pick CSA?
A: I actually did my initial training out of state, but was searching for a different experience to teach at. As a brand new, inexperienced CFI, I was very picky. I specifically targeted a Part 141 school because the FAA holds them to much higher standards for curriculum and maintenance. My goal was simple: provide elite training, fly well-maintained aircraft, and absolutely never have to explain a "sketchy airplane situation" to the FAA. Cornerstone checked every single box. Between that and the unmatched mentorship from senior instructors, I haven't looked back since.
Q: Any advice for an aspiring student pilot?
A: Your CFI matters just as much as -if not more than- the school you pick. While you are learning, the vibe matters. If you don't actively trust & mesh with your CFl, you're making a hard task even harder. If you don't feel a strong sense of trust and alignment, speak up. Find an instructor who genuinely cares about your success and whose teaching style fits your brain. It changes everything.
Sofia is one of our most senior CFls, a check instructor, & recently promoted to assistant chief! She teaches at both Ogden & SLC locations. We are SO lucky to have her, so if you see her, say hi!!

WHEELS UP WEDNESDAY 🛫 Meet Isaac!!
Q: What sparked your interest in flying?
A: I got into flying when I felt like I needed a little career change. I had been working as a Jeweler for 5 years. I remembered flying in a small plane with my scout troop as a teenager & how fun that had been. I loved RC airplanes & helicopters as a kid, but had never really thought too much about becoming a real pilot. I did a little research & found out how great of a career it could be and decided to jump into flight training.
Q: Why did you choose Cornerstone?
A: After doing some research on other flight schools in Utah, I felt strongly that the culture at CSA would be an excellent foundation for me in my aviation journey. Being a Part 141, FAA approved pilot school was a big selling point for me.
Q: What's your favorite airport? Anything you like to do outside of flying?
A: Grand Canyon National Park' Nothing quite like flying across the Grand Canyon alone in a little Skyhawk. When I’m not flying, you can sometimes find me in my workshop forging hot steel into high performance knives and medieval weapons. But most of the time you’ll find me reading books or hanging out with my wife and kids.
We've loved watching Isaac progress from student to instructor. Keep up the great work!! 💙🤍♥️
