We have a bit of a secret to share. 🤫
Many people don't realize that Utah Community Action's Nutrition program provides over 600,000 meals on a yearly basis to our Head Start locations. Every morning, our Central Kitchen provides the expertise, the oversight, and the support needed to proivde a delicious and nutritious meal so that our teachers can focus on what they do best: caring for our community's children.
It’s one of the many ways we’re working to make sure financial insecurity doesn't stand in the way of a healthy childhood. 🍎✨

Head Start is about the child, but at Utah Community Action, we know that to truly empower an individual, you have to strengthen the whole family.
When a child joins our program, the entire family gets a team in their corner. UCA offers support from health screenings and dental checkups to connecting parents with our other five programs (like housing or weatherization).
We don't just teach the student, we walk alongside the family. Because a stable home and a healthy body are the best school supplies a child can have. 🎒

We’re not above a good humble brag when it comes to our team. 🧡
Meet the crew that’s been traveling Salt Lake, Tooele, and Weber counties this month. They aren’t just contractors, they’re experts in making sure a family’s budget isn’t ""leaking"" out of a drafty window.
When we stabilize a home’s temperature, we’re doing more than fixing a house, we’re strengthening a family. It’s one less stressor on a parent's plate and a healthier environment for kids to grow up in.

UCA head start teachers are building foundations. From literacy and math to social-emotional skills, our curriculum is designed to ignite a lifelong love of learning.
We’ve spent 60 years proving that when you give a child a high-quality preschool experience, you aren't just helping them get ready for kindergarten, you're empowering them to change their entire future.
Take a look with us at how we’re building a stronger community, one little scholar at a time.
