Due to its limited ingredients, the pretzel serves as both a snack and a symbol of the Lenten Season. On this last school day of the season, the 2nd graders celebrated by crafting their own pretzels.

This year’s Outstanding Service Award recipient is a teacher who has faithfully served our school community for many years with unwavering commitment and love for her students. She holds her students to high expectations while supporting those who struggle, helping countless children grow into confident learners and capable young people. Through her passion for strong reading and math skills, engaging experiments, and meaningful projects, she inspires curiosity and perseverance, always reminding students to never give up. Just as importantly, she helps guide students in living out Catholic values through her teaching and example, forming not only strong learners but compassionate and faith-filled young people. Beyond the classroom, she is always willing to lend a hand and support the needs of the school and our community. We are deeply grateful for her many years of service and the lasting impact she continues to make at Kearns-St. Ann School. Congratulations to KSA’s very own Ajang (AJ) Deng! We are proud to share that she has been selected as one of four recipients of the Judge Memorial Centennial Scholarship.

Inspired by Judge Memorial’s 100th anniversary, the Centennial Scholarship was established in 2021 to recognize students who bring exceptional gifts to the Judge community. Recipients exemplify the school’s mission to educate builders of a more just society.

This prestigious scholarship is awarded annually to four incoming freshman students and is valued at $20,000 in total. These merit-based awards honor students who have already demonstrated outstanding achievement in their academic, social, physical, and spiritual growth.

We are incredibly proud of AJ and all she has accomplished!
