Who Got Roots Who Got Roots is an annual event giving High School students the opportunity to show case their cultures, talents, and schools.
We believe that through doing so, they could learn more about what they may have lost through generations of living the American dream.

The students who entered the art portion of Who Got Roots 2025 were able to present and display their pieces in a well known space for many to see. We are so grateful for the artists, their families, performers, vendors, facilitators, Who Got Roots family and Salt Lake Community College for making this happen. “Hello Dear Friends,
I hope you are doing well.
As the Roots of Resilience exhibit at SLCC comes to a close, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to each of you. Your time, your talents, and your willingness to share your stories through art created a space that was not only beautiful but also transformative.
Your work invited us to reflect, to feel, and to connect — and it left a lasting impression on everyone who walked through the exhibit. Thank you for your courage, your creativity, and your voice.

A special note: The background music was selected and the video completed just before the passing of our beloved George Fiji Veikoso. His voice has long been a source of strength and pride in our communities, and it feels especially significant that his music accompanies this tribute. It’s a reminder of how art — whether visual, musical, or cultural — continues to shape and uplift our lives.
