Join us for our annual Back to School Potluck Picnic!

Whether you're a returning family or completely new to Open Classroom, we can't wait to connect and kick off the new school year together.

We are at a different pavilion this year! Find us at the Fabian Lakeside Pavilion (near the pond on the west side of the park).

What to bring: A dish to share and reusable plates, utensils, and cups or reusable water bottles for your family.

There are picnic tables in the pavilion, but if you prefer, BYO chairs or blankets.
Children must be supervised. Please do not drop off and leave.

School starts August 18, and we want every classroom fully supported from Day 1! If you haven’t selected your regular co-op shift in your child’s class yet, now is the time.

AUGUST PARENT MEETINGS - SAVE THE DATE!
Kick off the new school year with us! Don't miss our first Parent Meeting of the year. August is our most important meeting as we share vital back-to-school information, review classroom routines, and connect as a community.
📌 Meetings start at 6:30 PM for adult parents/guardians unless noted below.
Schedule & Locations:
PreK: Aug 13 — Teachers’ Classroom
Kindergarten: Aug 15 (Sat) — Combined Watermelon Social & Meeting!
1/2 Blend: Aug 13 — Teachers’ Classroom
3rd Grade: Aug 17 — Teachers’ Classroom
4/5 Blend: Aug 26 — OC Gym
Uppers (6–8): Aug 19 — Hybrid Meeting (OC Library + Online)
Standard classroom meetings take place at The Open Classroom (134 D St, SLC).
What to expect:
Hear directly from teachers: Get vital back-to-school logistics, schedules, and classroom routines.
Get connected: Meet fellow parents and build our classroom community.
Stay informed: Get all your questions answered before the school year gets into full swing.

Your involvement is vital to our school's success! Volunteering offers a chance to build relationships with other OC families, share your skills, and experience the joy of giving back. Help us build a stronger school, one committee at a time!

We still need a few committee chairs! Reach out to the coordination committee if you are willing and able to help support the Traffic committee, Publicity committee, Yearbook committee, and V&PA committee!

We still have over 400+ library books still checked out. Please look under your bed, in your closets, your drawers, cars, or behind the couch. Please bring them back to their home at our library.

If you have looked EVERYWHERE and still can’t find them. You can donate a different book in its place.
