This student increased their score from a 25 to a 28 to a 30. And look at that Science score 😮! The ACT is much like a marathon. The time it takes to prepare is intensive and you should plan to take it several times to achieve the highest cumulative score possible!

With the recent news of the University of Utah waiving the ACT for incoming Fall 2021 students, we have had a lot of questions about whether students should take the test or not.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
- Although the ACT may no longer be a requirement for admission to the University of Utah, several other colleges still require it. BYU will continue to request a cumulative score for applicants. More importantly, the ACT will still be required for scholarships and class placements.
- Most admissions experts say there is little if any downside to taking the test. Furthermore, studying for the ACT strengthens your test taking and study strategies that are very advantageous in college.
- Colleges will now will place more emphasis on students' application essays, community service, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation.

Totally Tutoring is excited to welcome Andrew to our tutoring team! Andrew graduated from the US Naval Academy with a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Andrew spent 7 years in the US Navy as a submarine officer (1 year in training on how to operate a nuclear reactor for a US submarine, 3 years aboard a ballistic missile submarine, and then 3 years at US Strategic Command for my shore duty).
Andrew has spent over 400 hours as a peer tutor helping students in chemistry, physics, and all levels of math up to Calculus. We are so happy to have Andrew on our team and wanted to let you know Andrew is now accepting clients!

I’m so proud of this girl right here! She has worked SO hard. On her most recent practice test she scored in the 90th percentile and received 33 answers correct in a row!
