What started as a student idea to build community, advocate for an important cause, and bring excitement to the new school year has become an annual SLCSE tradition…our Su***de Prevention Fun Run!
Even better, this event is now fully planned and led by students. We ran, connected, raised awareness, and reminded one another that no one is alone.
Remember: You belong here, and you bring so much to our community. 💜🦄🐌

In honor of su***de prevention month, leadership has organized our annual FUN RUN for next Friday during advisory.
Come join us for a walk, run, or bike around the block to bring awareness to the cause and foster belonging in our school culture.
Wear purple and teal for the cause!
Alumni and families are welcome to participate as well

Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up at the end of this month. We have two days available for you to meet with your child's teachers.
Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. This is our in-person night here at SLCSE. No appointments needed. Teachers will be available in the Media Center and Cafeteria.
Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. This is our on Zoom night. You will need to make an appointment!

Join the SLCSE National History Day Program!
We are excited to invite SLCSE students to participate in National History Day (NHD). Through NHD, students explore a historical question of their choice, conduct in-depth research, and create a project to compete in the National History Day competition this spring.
NHD is a fun and engaging opportunity for students to:
Dive deeper into topics they are passionate about
Strengthen research, writing, and presentation skills
Connect with other students who enjoy history and learning
The program will be facilitated by Amy and Ms. Haakenson and will meet Wednesdays after school from 3:30–4:30 p.m. in Room 1031.
Students who are unable to attend on Wednesdays may also choose to complete an NHD project during their advisory period.
Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 9. If students cannot attend the first meeting, they are welcome to join at any time throughout the year.
We hope you'll consider being part of this exciting learning experience!

Mr. Lucas’ Outdoor Exploration class on their adventure this week to Grandeur Peak. At SLCSE we climb mountains both academically and physically…
