Our mission is to educate children and instill in our students a love of learning and the abilities to think critically, live ethically, and appreciate the value of each individual. The McGillis School is an academically vigorous K-8 community, accredited by the Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools, the Utah State Office of Education, and is an accredited member of the National Association of Independent Schools.

Kicking off 2026 with Summer at McGillis campers wearing these rad tees designed by ᴍ.ᴍ.ᴍᴜʀᴅᴏᴄᴋ, known well around these parts as the artist behind the iconic stripes of the 9th & 9th Whale!

Mike’s hot dog + popsicle + watermelon design debuted on summer tees waaaay back before COVID, but it remained a faculty/staff fave, so he brought the sun-lovin’ trio back this year with a few updates and on a trendy cream canvas!

Our Summer at McGillis camps kicked off today with rising students in 1st through 5th grades heading out for "Wild Side" adventures hiking and exploring SLC. And we can't wait to see what the week ahead brings for our Middle School campers!

McGillis marches in Pride 2026! What a beautiful morning, surrounded by thousands of friends along the route, with so many McGillis kids and adults gathered to represent our school. And this year, we welcomed a gorgeous flying Magpie made by none other than Ms. Saxton! 💙🌈

Here they are, our final Class of 2026 Reflections! In just a couple of days, our Magpies will leave the nest, and we can't wait to see what they'll do! 💙
