The Montessori approach to math empowers students to learn by doing. Using hands-on Montessori materials such as number rods, golden beads, and bead chains along with interactive lessons and real-world connections, students build a strong foundation in mathematical thinking while growing their confidence and curiosity every day.

We value the freedom children have to choose the space that best supports their concentration and engagement in the classroom.
Our focus is not on where a child chooses to work, but on the meaningful learning, independence, and purposeful activity taking place. We trust children to select the environment that helps them do their best work.

Each year, our students learn about life cycles through hands-on experiences. We raise trout and chicks from eggs and watch caterpillars transform into butterflies.
Throughout the year, students observed the lifecycle of the trout. The Upper and Lower Elementary classes released them into Fairmount Park creek. Our chicks have just hatched and will stay at school through the end of the year before spending the summer with staff and families.

Thursday evening we watched two sessions of performances by amazing students!
The Share-ssical is an end of year musical opportunity for individuals who participate in music therapy sessions to share. 🎵
Why is this important? “The method of re-creation and performance in music therapy helps strengthen one’s perception of self and can influence the perception that others have about them.
