In a Montessori classroom, creativity is woven into the learning experience. Through painting, drawing, sculpting, and creating, children strengthen fine motor skills, develop problem-solving skills, build concentration, and express ideas that words alone can't always capture.

When children use thier creativity to explore concepts, they engage their senses, deepen their understanding, and make meaningful connections. Every brushstroke, collage, and creation becomes an opportunity to discover, imagine, and grow.

Art nurtures confident, curious learners who see creativity as an essential part of how they understand the world.

Our Elementary Summer Camp students had an exciting opportunity to explore the world of bridges! Campers learned about different bridge designs, discovered the ingenuity behind these incredible structures, and explored the important role bridges play in connecting our communities.

They also put their creativity and problem solving skills to work by building their own bridges before heading out to observe real bridges in our community.

Whether they're observing insects, investigating plants, experimenting with water, or exploring magnets, children develop scientific thinking through hands-on experiences rather than memorization.

Each activity encourages observation, problem-solving, and independent thinking while giving children the confidence to ask questions, test ideas, and make their own discoveries.

When children are given the freedom to explore their interests, they find authentic joy in learning that extends far beyond the classroom.

Confidence grows when children have meaningful opportunities to practice it.

At Elizabeth Academy, our Montessori approach gives children daily opportunities to make choices, explore new work, ask questions, complete meaningful tasks, and try again.

With teacher guidance and individualized support, confidence grows through independence, purposeful work, and the trust to take the next step.

This is what whole-child achievement looks like at EA—helping children grow academically, socially, and personally with confidence.

This week, our campers had the incredible opportunity to explore a fascinating collection of animal skulls and furs provided by the Utah Hogle Zoo. Both our Early Childhood and Elementary students enjoyed observing, touching, and learning about a variety of animals through these hands-on materials.
