Lacey is the quiet force and the steady glue behind everything we do. She often gets tasked with the things no one else likes or wants to do. Whether she is tackling big administrative mountains or stepping into a classroom to wipe a tear, her impact is felt in every single corner of our schools.

From Gooey Mess to Masterpiece!
The other day, I was walking by our 3-4 year old room and heard a chorus of:

"Eww!"
"Squishy!"
"Gooey!"
"It’s so cold!"

Naturally, I had to stop and see what the commotion was about. I discovered our little scientists deep in the lab making handmade pulp (or "potions," depending on who you asked) to transform into paper!

The Secret Ingredients
The best part? There were no rules—only creativity. They were allowed to add whatever they wanted to their mixtures. We saw some amazing customizations:

Future Gardeners: Added seeds.

Texture Experts: Mixed in dried beans for a 3D effect.

The Glitz Squad: Dumped in plenty of glitter (of course!).

The Chef: One little girl even claimed she added her "secret ingredient"—crumbs from snack!

The Big Question...
Now, the room is filled with anticipation. The children are wondering: "What will it feel like when it’s dry?"

Will the bean-paper be bumpy? Will the snack-paper be crunchy? Will the seeds actually grow?

It Takes a Village!
Our hearts (and tummies) are full after an incredible Teacher Appreciation Week! While our teachers are the true heroes in the classroom every day, we know it took a massive team behind the scenes to make this past week’s celebration so special.
