Thanks to a generous grant from IME Becas Program in Mexico, ongoing support from Consulado de México en Salt Lake City and an amazing fundraiser by Chefs Soberanis of Sobe Eats, we have awarded 34 IME Becas/U-DREAM Scholarships to students attending 8 local colleges and universities. U-DREAM Scholarship - Spring 2021 - Formstack Educational Opportunities for Utah’s Children (Ed Opps) announces the U-DREAM Scholarship competition for continuing undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at Utah colleges or universities during Spring 2021. Thank you to the U of U Dream Center for sharing these resources. Their recorded video as well as the attached resources contain valuable information regarding the pending Supreme Court ruling.

They also share that students who are experiencing increased distress can get help through the U of U Counseling Center. They are offering support via telephone and video conference appointments. Initial appointments can be made at (801) 581-6826 or the 24-hour Crisis Line at (801) 587-3000.

He is a former U-DREAM scholar who became the director of the Dream Center at the U of U. He recently moved to SLCC as the Assistant Director for the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs. COVID-19 Update:

We applaud our students who are striving to complete the current school semester in spite of the school closures, economic impact and other restrictions caused by COVID-19. This crisis affects all of us, but is particularly hard for migrant families.

We are working to raise funds for the 2020-21 U-DREAM Scholarship, and will announce the application process on our website, here on our page and by email as soon as we have more information.

Ciriac Alvarez Valle from Voices for Utah Children has created this incredible resource for immigrant families in Utah. The document shares information regarding: stimulus checks, testing for COVID-19, unemployment benefits, and much more. Supporting Undocumented Students: The Impact of COVID-19 and the Uncertainty of DACA:
National Scholarship Providers Association (NSPA) did an online webinar regarding how to support undocumented students during these moments. The webinar recording is available to view here: https://bit.ly/3cB59Iv

The Wellness Bus (Free/Affordable COVID-19 Testing):
COVID -19 testing requirements have been loosened and the state now wants to test anyone that has at least one COVID symptom - fever, cough, shortness of breath. Also, anyone who has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 should also get tested.

The Wellness Bus is offering no-cost testing to those without insurance, regardless of documentation status. If someone has insurance, they will bill their insurance. All insurance plans are now covering the cost of the test. They prefer that people make an appointment, (801-747-9547) but they can come without one, preferably in their car as we are doing drive-thru testing.
