In this 2-minute clip, Kanengiser talks working with Ralph Macchio, meeting Steve Vai, and shaving the hair off his knuckles for the making of the 1986 movie, Crossroads. The day after his solo show here in SLC he'll be teaching a free community workshop at the Glendale library. Register to attend and/or participate!

UCG invites you to attend our last Prestige concert of the '25-'26 season, featuring award winning artist, William Kanengiser, on Friday May 15th, 7:30pm, at the Regent Street Black Box Theater at the Eccles.

He's forged a career that expands the possibilities of the classical guitar. A prize-winner in major competitions (1987 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, Toronto Guitar ’81) he has toured throughout North America, Asia, and Europe with his innovative programs and expressive musicianship.

We've mentioned before that the first CG player to perform at Carnegie Hall (NYC) was CD Schettler, a native of Salt Lake City. The date was January 29, 1904. Today we took Leonela -- who played at Carnegie Hall one week ago -- to Schettler's home in The Avenues, which has a memorial plaque in the front lawn that UCG worked with the then-homeowner to place back in 2018.
