Upsilon Beta Omega Chapter, formerly know as “The Ladies in Pink and Green,” began as an interest group in the late 80’s. As new sorors moved to the area, numbers began to grow and we researched the possibility of chartering a chapter. Upsilon Beta Omega had a great time attending the Mardi Gras in the Mountain event this past Friday hosted by the Utah Black Chamber of Commerce, led by our very own Sister Sidni L. Shorter! We thank the Utah Black Chamber for being inaugural inductees into the Utah Black Chamber's Hall of Fame for Corporate Leadership and Partnership!! On this Incorporation Day, the Upsilon Beta Omega Chapter is eternally grateful for our Incorporators who knew the greatness that Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority could bring to our world, and made the choice to protect it 113 years ago. We strive to continue the work our Founders instilled and Incorporators reaffirmed for each of us in 2026 and beyond. 🩷💚

On this day, we did more than step pretty.. We made a FIRST move that secured the legacy.
On January 29, 1913, led by the visionary and fearless Nellie M. Quander, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® became officially incorporated and protected. Sister Nellie’s leadership ensured that what our Founders built would not only last, but be preserved with intention, structure, and foresight.
This was legacy protection in real time. This was a woman seeing ahead, standing on business, and safeguarding the future of our sisterhood.
113 years later, we are still benefiting from that bold decision, built on Principle, Preservation, and Perpetuity.
