🤪It’s silly time!🤪
🌥️Just because the sky turns gray doesn’t mean the fun has to end. Here at TSC we know that while silly time, when the sun gets tucked behind the clouds, is fun we must always remember to stay safe, kind, and responsible. In the end the sun will eventually come out again!⛅️
Parent Tip: A big part of kiddos learning emotional regulation from watching adults. So let’s try to recognize and share our own emotions in a calm positive way.

Here at TSC we listen, share, and help where we can. When we dance we know where our bodies are, when we create art we share our supplies and listen to others tell us about their pieces, when we build treehouses we build understanding of animals as we share our creations and materials. Through it all we are always asking for help and asking to help.
Parents: Remember to give the kiddos time to ask you for help instead of jumping right in and offering. This helps kiddos recognize that they are stuck and that it’s ok to ask for help. ❤️

The changing weather provides the perfect outdoor experiences to really dive into our senses. The Sammy Center recognizes that understanding what our senses are telling us is an important and sometimes overwhelming part of social emotional learning. With Spring outdoor exploration time our kiddos are learning how to safely feel, and listen to discover what surrounds them. From mud to trees to birds there is so much to discover.
Parent Tip: Spend sometime with your kiddos exploring through sound and touch. Try to have them describe things through sound and feel instead of just sight. This helps build the brain to understand social cues and emotional context.

At TSC, we’re celebrating the beauty of diversity, kindness, and what makes each of us unique 🌈🐘
This week, our book of the week was Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, a story that reminds children that our differences are something to be proud of. Through our activities and discussions, we explored how every person brings their own colors, ideas, and strengths into the world, just like Elmer’s patchwork pattern 💛
Parent tip🐛: Encourage conversations at home about differences in a positive way! Reading diverse books, asking open-ended questions, and celebrating what makes your child unique can help build empathy and confidence from an early age.

Our Spring Picnic was full of laughter, connection, and community🍭
From bubbles and cotton candy to live music and shared meals, it meant so much to see our families, staff, and supporters come together to celebrate 💛
We are so grateful for each of you who showed up, brought a dish, donated to our classrooms, and made this day so special. Moments like these remind us that it truly takes a village 🌼

Outdoor play is a chance to explore, regulate, and express big emotions freely 💛
Sometimes that looks like running, sometimes it looks like laughing… and sometimes it looks like a big, joyful scream 🌿

In these moments, our kiddos are building literacy skills, strengthening focus and imagination, and a love for learning. Each small moment adds up to big growth 🤍
For parents: Try creating a cozy reading corner at home and set aside even 10 minutes a day for uninterrupted reading time. Let your child choose the book as it builds confidence and keeps them engaged!
