We are thrilled to celebrate our students on completing the Medical Admissions Preparatory Program at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine!

It has been a joy to support you throughout this journey, guide you through the medical school application process, and get to know each of you. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and can’t wait to see the impact you’ll make in medicine!

Our MAPP Mentor Mixer was a great success! Students were able to meet their mentor and learn more about medical school from their perspective.

Building pathways to medicine starts with creating opportunities for young people to see themselves in health care.

In May, medical and physician assistant students joined OACC, the Center for Native Excellence and Tribal Engagement, and the Southern Utah Regional Medical Campus for an outreach tour focused on health education and career exploration.

Through hands-on activities, including suturing, ultrasound demonstrations, and “find the fracture”, students explored careers in health and medicine while connecting with future health professionals.

These experiences help strengthen relationships, inspire future generations, and support pathways into health professions for students from rural and Tribal communities.

Building community, creating connections, and making summer memories!

The OACC, NETE, NARI, and GSRM came together for an afternoon of fun, laughter, and community.

With an epic water balloon fight and a delicious cookout, students had the opportunity to relax, enjoy great food, and strengthen relationships with one another outside of the classroom and research spaces. Events like these remind us that community is at the heart of academic success.

Here’s to a summer filled with collaboration, friendship, and unforgettable moments!

The OACC and NETE had the pleasure of welcoming a group of middle and high school students from the Urban Indian Center to the University of Utah campus! Students had the opportunity to explore campus while participating in a variety of hands-on activities, including beaded bracelet making, suturing lessons, and bowling.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our campus and connect with these amazing students.

We are grateful to have hosted the 2026 Pre-Admission Workshop at the Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine.

This gathering brought together an incredible group of students who are preparing for their journey into medicine. Their dedication, curiosity, and commitment to serving their communities was inspiring.

A huge thank you to our partners, presenters, panelists, staff, students, community members, and relatives who helped make this experience meaningful. We are especially grateful to Association of American Indian Physicians, the Four Corners Alliance, Southern Utah Regional Medical Campus, Admissions - Spencer Fox Eccles School of Medicine, Center for Native Excellence and Tribal Engagement, Sacred Circle Healthcare, Native American Research Internship, and everyone who supported PAW through mentorship, teaching, planning, and hospitality.

We are proud of this year’s PAW students and excited to see where their paths lead. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey.
