We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our community partners for stopping by the library to share their amazing summer opportunities with our students. Thank you again Cary from Salt Lake City Public Library , Masha from Center for Documentary Expression and Art and Cassie from Salt Lake City Government for creating opportunities for the youth in our city to have intellectual, political, and creative ways to express their talents. We are so grateful for our community partners!

Horizonte Family, we will be having our last in-person Parent Teacher Conference of the year THIS Thursday, April 30th from 3:30-5:30pm! We will also be having a transition meeting for Juniors in room 420 at 3:30pm or 5pm. (4th floor)
And most importantly, we will have a mandatory graduating Senior family meeting in Library (room 430) at 3:30pm or 5pm (4th floor). This meeting is MANDATORY for all seniors who are walking. Please have a guardian and student attend this meeting!

The Creative Career Chat series has officially come to an end, and this last chat was one to remember! Horizonte graduate Ricky Arriola from graced us today and left our students with so many gems for self-empowerment, self-realization, and most importantly self-reliance. He reminded students that a strong team is vital for success in business, that they have to create an environment that people want to be in, and that the more skills your have, the more valuable you become to any job!
Ricky, thank you so much for all you do for our community and for being a source of inspiration in hope for the Horizonte community! We are so grateful for our community partnerships!

Horizonte Family, last week's Creative Career Chat was dynamic! Art designer Holly Adams discussed the importance of artists in our community and the pivotal role they play as changemakers in the community, that AI can't substitute the knowledge you gain, and that every design job has a problem waiting to be solved. She also encouraged student to finish school now (it will be worth while) and that 90% of success is showing up!

Our past two Creative Career Chats featured a husband and wife duo, John and Toni Allison, who took time out of their busy schedules to talk to us about their amazing careers!
Toni, the owner of Fit and Strong, discussed the importance of health and wellness while showing students dry needling techniques and ways to improve their health. John, from the Bureau of Land Management, discussed the importance of environmental health and the removal of hazardous waste in our community. John reminded students that they don't have to have a career decided by the time they graduate, and that we can help the community by working for our city or state govt!
