Selling crafts online but not getting the results you want?

Maybe you're just not speaking Etsy's love language❤️

Maybe there's nothing wrong with your products, you just aren't presenting them in a way that speaks Etsy's love language.

So they aren't getting the love in return from the Etsy algorithm.

Here's 5 ways to make the Etsy algorithm work in your favor to grow your traffic organically.

Etsy Traffic Tip #1: Use Long Tail Keywords
A long tail keyword is basically more than one keyword that you put in a phrase, that will narrow your niche, and increase your exposure.

Etsy Traffic Tip #2: Use Your Focus Keyword in Your Title
Use your focus keyword in your title. Your focus keyword is the number one keyword that you want to rank high for in search listings with that particular item.

Etsy Traffic Tip #3 Use Phrases in Both Titles and Tags
Something that is really important is to use phrases in both the title and the tags. Exact phrase matches are stronger than matches on an individual word. Tags or phrases that appear in both the title and the tag of listings are considered more relevant!

Etsy Traffic Tip #4 Don’t Repeat Tags
Within the tag section at the bottom of your Etsy listing, don’t repeat tags. For example, you are selling a handmade shirt. You don’t need to say ‘baby pink shirt’, ‘silk shirt’, and ‘women’s shirt’, because the tag word ‘shirt’ has already been used.

Etsy Traffic Tip #5 Be Current
When selling crafts online, you need to stay current. Etsy’s algorithm reviews how recently an item was listed or re-listed. You can fix the SEO of an old listing, then duplicate the listing, and publish it as a new listing. This will give you a small boost in the algorithm since it’s considered a brand new listing.

Read on for my TOP 5 hacks on how to get more traffic to your handmade brand...

I’ve had so many questions about starting a handmade brand this week so I wanted to put together my top 5 hacks that you can start using right away…

The important thing to remember before diving into or implementing any of these is that consistency is key.

Hack 1: Stop auto re-listing your expired listings
Why are we paying to re-list products that didn't resonate the first time around? Instead, duplicate your listing and switch out the main photo, product title, or tags to see if you get increased exposure and sales.

Hack 2: Add Videos
Shoppers love to see videos- even bad ones that you created while fulfilling orders. Snap a quick, behind the scenes video of your process to create something inspiring to your future customers.

Hack 3: Focus on keywords... EVEN more
Photos may get customers to click- but keywords are what got your product in front of them in the first place. If you aren't getting views, start switching out your tags and keywords before anything else..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hack 4: You don't need a full shop to be successful
Sometimes all it takes is listing one product... then tweaking your presentation over and over again to create a variety of offerings. Consider batching a single product into a group of 3, then a "party package" of more, or switching out the color to offer more variety without making an entire collection to get started. After all, done is better than perfect.

Hack 5: Batch Your Time
You'll get far more time via time-batching than constantly reacting to your new biz. Check out my bio for free resources to learn how 😉

I’m curious, had you heard or tried any of these before? Let me know your thoughts or any hacks you’ve got for me below!

Time Batching For Handmade Sellers Part 2:

04/18/2022

A lot of people believe that it's difficult to get started on Etsy ... but I completely disagree, here’s why. ⬇️

It can be easy to buy into this, because you see a lot of people talking about it on here … but that doesn’t necessarily make it true.

I mean, if it were, would we still see so much growth in Etsy year after year?

Over the past 13 years, I’ve gained a lot of experience in selling handmade items online and through that I’ve realized there are consistent strategies and SEO routines that help propel success.

It might be a little controversial, but hear me out…

I’ve learned that the it comes to selling, the amount of time you spend creating an item doesn't matter nearly as much as the WORDS you use to describe it.

I’m really curious where you stand on this: is it something you agree or disagree with, and why? Let me know below and let’s chat about it!
