Graduates, go forward with confidence.
Carry your faith seriously.
Carry beauty seriously.
Carry excellence seriously.
Carry friendship seriously.
Do not be afraid to stand apart from the culture when necessary. Some of the greatest moments of our history depend on voices refusing to collapse into sameness.
And remember this above all:
What made this school special was never simply that you learned to sing well.
It was that, here, you learned that your life itself is meant to become a song offered to God.
Congratulations, graduates.

Congratulations to MCS alumna Guadalupe! ‘“My parents believed that Catholic schools provided a strong educational and supportive environment, and they were right,” she said. “Attending a Catholic school was a blessing, God’s mercy in my life.”’

Today is the memorial of St. Philip Neri, who ministered in Rome in the 16th century. He was often dubbed the “Apostle of Joy.” With that spirit of joy, we celebrate that it is thirty years to the day that the opening of The Madeleine Choir School was approved by Bishop Niederauer. Please join us in expressing our gratitude to our patron saints, our benefactors, and the many staff and families that have helped to bring us to where we are today. The future is bright for MCS. In that hope, let us continue to strive for that excellence that brings about beauty, certainly in music, but also in our academic pursuits and in the formation of noble souls.

Last week we celebrated Quid Admirantes! This MCS tradition takes place every year on the 40th day after Easter - the day of the Ascension of the Lord. The title derives from one of the funnier lines in the New Testament - “Why are you standing around and staring at the sky?” 🌄
From the Cathedral bell tower, bags containing the Pentecost Novena were tossed down to the students below. Students have been leading the Novena Prayers during morning assembly, beginning with the words, “Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.” 🕊️
