This summer, we’ve had 109 MLS majors attend new student orientation, and we still have five more orientations to go! 🎒📓🍎

A HUGE shoutout to our MLS Academic Advisor Lexi Wilson, who has led 26 MLS orientations this year! Thank you so much to our orientation leaders, pre-MLS students Mal and Violet, for all their help — we’re lucky to have you all! 🌟📈

Last week, we wrapped up our fifth-annual Summer Immersion Program! This year, we welcomed 40 wonderful high school students from Utah, Idaho, Nevada, California, Texas, and Georgia! We couldn’t have asked for a better group of students to join us in exploring the fascinating world of medical laboratory science. 🥼🥽 🦠

Over the course of our week-long program, students participated in lectures and hands-on labs in a range of MLS specialties, including:

🪱 Parasitology
🧪 Clinical Chemistry
🩸 Hematology
🧫 Microbiology
🆎 Immunohematology

Thank you to ARUP Laboratories for providing our students with a tour of its reference laboratory, offering their young minds an inspiring glimpse into the innovative work and groundbreaking science happening every day.

We’re so incredibly proud of our 2026 graduates! 🎓🥲🌹

We had 39 students graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science, and three students graduate with a Master of Science in Laboratory Medicine and Biomedical Science 🥼✨

The MLS Division’s Dr. Omar Muñoz and Recruiting & Engagement Specialist Gabby Peterson were invited to judge at North Davis Preparatory Academy’s “Ciencia en Utah” Science Fair, where they got to see students present their STEM research projects entirely in Spanish! We are so proud of each student and look forward to what they’ll research next!
