Meet Pat Behrens

Our new Head Girls Basketball Coach🧡🖤🏀

Pat was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. He has been in coaching for almost 25 years coaching all levels of girls and boys basketball.

He graduated from Northern Arizona in 1984 where he also met his wife Miki; they have been married for 42 years.

After college, he and his family moved to Bonners Ferry where he stayed for 25 years until moving to Salmon in retirement!

Coach Kristina Hershberger brings a diverse background of experience to the role of Head Cheer Coach.

She is the Assistant Director of Elevated Arts Studio, where she teaches dance, coaches conditioning, and assists with choreography. A fitness professional for more than 11 years, Kristina is an ISSA Master Trainer with certifications in Youth Fitness, Sports Nutrition, and numerous other specialties. She is also a licensed instructor for SHiNE Dance Fitness™, UPLIFT Strength Training™, Strong Nation™, and RevFit®.

Committed to athlete safety and development, Kristina has completed NFHS certifications in Coaching Cheer and Dance, Cheer and Dance Safety, and Concussions In Sports. She is also First Aid, CPR and AED certified.

Prior to coaching, she served 11 years as an Army Intelligence Officer and Interrogator and served in Iraq. She also spent 14 years in law enforcement in patrol, investigations, SWAT, and specialized leadership and training roles.

She looks forward to building school spirit, fostering teamwork, and growing a positive, successful cheer program.

Sarah Presthus Head Volleyball Coach

Sarah Presthus was born and raised in southwest Minnesota where her love for volleyball began  at a young age and has continued throughout her life as both a player and coach. She and her husband moved to Salmon in 2015 to start their family, and together are raising three children. After relocating in 2022 to be closer to family, an opportunity to return in 2025 felt like coming home.  Sarah has enjoyed coaching club volleyball in the community and is honored to serve as the new head coach of the salmon volleyball program.

Huge shout out to all of these amazing STUDENT ATHLETES that have committed to the concept of OFFSEASON work as the foundation for future growth and prosperity in their respective sports! Although several are not pictured, these young men and woman have worked so hard twice a week since the end of January.

Big shout out to all of the Salmon Sports coaches for uniting together as ONE to represent the 🧡🖤 each and every week for almost 7 months!
