Dolly’s Imagination Library will be our State’s Outreach Project this year and next. Our chapter plans to set up a booth at Eastside’s Literacy Night this December. We can’t wait to help our community’s children and honor Dolly in this way! 📚❤️

Today, we join people around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton.

Dolly’s legacy extends far beyond her music. Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she transformed her belief in the power of reading into a worldwide movement that has placed hundreds of millions of books into the hands of young children.

At the Oklahoma Partnership for School Readiness, we are honored to help carry that legacy forward here in Oklahoma. Every book mailed to a child’s home, every story shared between a parent and child, and every young reader inspired to dream is part of the extraordinary gift Dolly leaves behind.

Her voice will be deeply missed, but her commitment to helping children Dream More, Learn More, Care More and Be More will continue to inspire generations to come. ❤️📚

And last but not least for our summer spotlight series on Chapter Officers: Hudson Ruark

Hello, I am Hudson Ruark, serving as the Sallisaw Chapter VP of Community Service. This year I will be a Sophomore. FCCLA has not only given me the opportunity to meet new people, but has given me the confidence to grow as a leader and the opportunity to build friendships that feel like family. Through the experiences I've had and the people I've met, I've learned the value of service, teamwork, and leadership. FCCLA has helped shape who I am today and has given me memories and skills that will stay with me for my future that is still to come.

I have competed in Creed Speaking and Parliamentary Procedures STAR Events as well.

Up next for our summer spotlight series on Chapter Officers: Joshua Dean

Josh is a senior and a third year member. This year he will serve as our VP of Membership! Josh has been involved in STAR Events every year, and is looking forward to more competitive events as soon as school begins. Josh enjoys volunteering and being of service to the FCCLA and other school groups throughout his high school career at Sallisaw, such as, the FFA, BPA, Yearbook, and Media Productions.

Currently Josh has taken up fishing as one of his favorite pastimes!

Community Service Opportunity for any FCCLA member! Meet at the concession stand area at the rodeo grounds by 2:00 for a few hours of helping to set up… Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to work in, and drink plenty of water!
