Don’t forget- we still have our playgroups all summer long!

Today our friend MaKenzie brought in her bug catcher to show us the wasp and sicada that she caught 🪲 It was the perfect addition to go along with our month of insects!

🐝 As we continue our insect theme this month, this week we focused on bees! We sang the Baby Bumble Bee finger play song together, building language skills, rhythm, and coordination. Then we got creative making adorable handprint bees to take home. 🎶🎨

Learning through songs, movement, and hands-on activities helps children develop important early learning skills while making special memories with their families. 💛🖤

What a night!!! 🐶

Last night we hosted our Watch D.O.G.S. Building Bonds event with our fathers and father figures. Dinner, fellowship, family bonding, LEGO’s, and laughter. It was a fantastic evening together ❤️

Thank you to Eugene Schneeburg with Father’s Forward for joining us and helping to remind our males how valued they are! 🌟

Our June theme is all about insects, and today we buzzed into learning about flies…even those pesky flies! 🪰

We read The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle and practiced our fly-swatting skills while singing the classic “Shoo Fly” song together. The children had so much fun moving, singing, and pretending to swat away those busy bugs!

In our art center, we got creative by making our own flies using black construction paper, wax paper wings, and googly eyes. Activities like these help build fine motor skills, encourage creativity, and support early literacy through stories and songs.

We can’t wait to see what other insects we discover this month! 🐞🐛🦋

We had some special guests this morning! Incoming PreK and Kindergarten friends had the opportunity to visit Pemberton and experience a glimpse of what next year may bring! 📚✏️

From exploring the classroom to meeting new teachers and friends, it was a wonderful morning filled with excitement, curiosity, and confidence-building. These transition activities help children become familiar with new environments and routines, making the move to school a little less intimidating and a lot more exciting!

We are so proud of our future scholars and can’t wait to watch them continue to grow! ❤️🍎

Today at Playgroup we enjoyed singing and acting out “5 Little Ducks” together 🐥

Through finger plays like this, children are building important early learning skills such as language development, counting, memory, listening, and fine motor coordination. Repetitive songs and motions also help children feel confident and encourage participation in a fun, low-pressure way.

We love encouraging families to continue these simple songs and finger plays at home, too! Familiar routines and repetition help strengthen learning, connection, and confidence for our little learners 💛
