Congratulations to Rowan-Cabarrus graduate Marlon Bastos and teammate Breanna Cook on earning first place at the NC Office of EMS Regional Paramedic Competition!

Held on Friday, March 13, at Johnston Community College, the competition challenges paramedics through a written exam and fast-paced clinical scenarios that test knowledge, teamwork and decision-making under pressure. Their win secured a spot in the State Finals on May 3.

Marlon, who graduated on February 24, also received the Clinical Excellence Award, recognizing his commitment to high-quality patient care.

This achievement reflects Marlon’s dedication, preparation and professionalism in serving the Cabarrus County community.
