Important reminder: Monday, March 16 is now a school day with 3-hour early dismissal. This makes up the first of three days missed due to winter weather conditions. (The other two makeup days, also with 3-hour early dismissal, are on April 2 -- with April 1 now a full school day -- and June 12. ) March 16 is no longer a staff professional day, as shown on the original approved calendar..

Letter days for elementary students (including those at Pittsville Elementary & Middle) are posted each week during the school year. The schedule of letter days is on school web pages in Live Feed, and on the school system's website, in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.

Today, The Veggie Lady visited all of our kindergarten classrooms for a fun nutrition lesson about fruits and the seeds they carry! 🥝🍌🍅🍓🥑

Students explored how different
fruits grow and enjoyed a hands-on taste test of pumpkin seeds, cucumbers, blueberries, and mashed avocado served atop multigrain chips.

Be sure to ask your child what they liked best about today’s tastings—and remember to serve 1-1.5 cups of fruit to your child every day, especially at snack time!

The next monthly meeting of the Wicomico County Board of Education is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, 2026, in the Board of Education Auditorium at 101 Long Ave., Salisbury.

For this Board meeting, the Board will convene at 6:30 p.m. and immediately vote to go into closed session. The open portion of the meeting will begin at about 7 p.m. The agenda for this meeting is available at https://wicomico-schools.community.highbond.com/Portal/

Anyone wanting to register for public comments may visit the school system office at 2424 Northgate Drive during business hours to fill out a paper copy of the pre-registration form, or you can do so beginning one hour before the Board Meeting at 101 Long Avenue.

🎩📚 Oh, the Fun We Had Reading!

Chipman Scholars had an amazing time celebrating Read Across America Week with books and dress-up days! Reading sparks imagination, and our hallways were full of it all week long. 🌟
