Monday April 22, 2024 is a Predicted Statewide HIGH Fire 🔥 Danger Day.

Reflecting on last night's major fire in Plymouth, I want to highlight the often overlooked aspects of a firefighter's job. Even after the flames are extinguished, their hard work continues. Many of the firefighters on scene had already dedicated hours to a live fire training in Campton-Thornton earlier in the day. Post-fire responsibilities include cleaning and hanging hundreds of feet of hose line, repacking fresh hoses onto apparatus, cleaning tools, and ensuring that turnout gear is ready for the next call. Firefighting is a relentless, 24/7 commitment. Their task at one scene may end, but they must be ready at a moment's notice to respond to the next emergency. Let's take a moment to appreciate the exhaustive efforts of our firefighters.

OPEN TO ALL- In this co-ed class, participants will be introduced to all eight CPAT events, gain practical experience with CPAT equipment, and receive instruction on techniques to aid in test preparation. Each participant will have the opportunity to complete the full test. Please note that success in the practice test does not guarantee success in the official CPAT exam. Participants must be at least 18 years old and are required to wear long pants and sneakers.
It's important to emphasize that this class serves as supplementary preparation and does not replace Orientation or the official CPAT test. Additionally, successful completion of this class does not guarantee passing the CPAT certification exam."

Just after 1am this morning Engine 1 was dispatched mutual aid to Andover for a building fire. Engine 1 established a water supply near the scene. A crew of 6 responded. Quick work by Andover and Franklin companies kept the fire to the walls around a chimney. Great work everyone.
