Are you interested in working for parks or public lands🌳, zoos🐒, aquariums🐠, nature centers⛺, science centers🔬, museums🖼, historical sites📜, or anywhere people go to learn about places?

If so, check out ENVR 495: Environmental Interpretation in Spring 2025!

Interpretation of natural and cultural resources connects people with places, landscapes, and history through a purposeful approach to communication. Widely used as the primary mode of communication, education, and storytelling in nature centers, museums, zoos, aquariums, parks, and historical sites, interpretation aims to light a spark in the imaginations of diverse groups and audiences brought together by a common interest or experience.👧👵👳👨‍🦰

Using both classroom and interpretive sites around Delmarva, ENVR 495: Environmental Interpretation investigates the theory and practice of interpretive programming and planning, media, trails, waysides, and exhibits.🚐 Lectures will be on Tuesdays with lab/field trips on Thursdays.

Fulfills experiential requirement for ENVR majors
Must be in sophomore standing

An optional Certified Interpretive Guide (CIG) certificate through the National Association for Interpretation (NAI) is available for an additional fee (paid directly to NAI) as part of the course.
