East, City, North & South:
Monday-Friday 7a.m. - 5p.m. In an effort to provide quality child care in southern Rowan County, Cornerstone Child Development Center opened its doors on Webb Road in September of 2000. Although it was a humbling beginning, CCDC began to grow quickly and soon became a leading four star licensed child development center. In May of 2006, CCDC Main welcomed the addition

of CCDC City on Faith Road to reach out and service the central region of Rowan County. Once again, this new center proved to be a success and CCDC City became a recognized 4 star licensed child development center. Quickly after the success of CCDC City and with the continued success of CCDC Main, CCDC East on Eastville Drive in Rockwell opened its doors in September of 2006 to service to the eastern region of Rowan County with the same quality. Rising up to the challenge of its predecessors, CCDC East soon became the largest growing 4 star licensed child development center in their area. With the extreme growth and demand in the county, CCDC North located in Spencer emerged on the scene in March of 2009 to reestablish quality child care in that area. With determination, CCDC North proved to be just that when they received their 4 star licensing. Although there are no current plans, CCDC welcomes the opportunity to offer our services to our western Rowan County community. Currently, Cornerstone Child Development Centers serve over 250 families in Rowan County offering high quality child care. In addition, CCDC employs over 45 full time staff members and is larger than most small businesses. All center are 5 Star as of April 2016

From our humble beginnings on Webb Rd to the extreme growth with the addition of three top performing facilities, CCDC stands firm on its commitment to be the leading child care provider in Rowan County.

🐉🌮 Dragons Love Tacos Week! 🌮🐉

Last week, our preschoolers had so much fun learning with Dragons Love Tacos! We read the story, created our very own dragons, practiced name and letter recognition by identifying the letters that make up our names, and even made our own tacos! Of course, we only used mild toppings because dragons do NOT like spicy salsa! 🌮🔥

This fun-filled lesson supported several areas of the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development, including LDC-8: engaging with and responding to books and stories, LDC-15: developing knowledge of letters and print, CD-10: using thinking and problem-solving skills, and HPD-5: developing fine-motor skills through creating, coloring, assembling, and preparing our tacos.

I loved seeing the children learn through reading, creativity, conversation, and hands-on experiences! ❤️ Our next adventure is *The Very Hungry Caterpillar* 🐛🍎🍓—and the best part is, this was the children's next book choice! We can't wait to see where our learning takes us next!

🌞💦 **Our Family Bash Was a BLAST!** 🌭🍕🍧

We had such a wonderful time at our Family Bash! We were excited to welcome our families for a fun-filled day of good food, laughter, and memories. Our families enjoyed hotdogs, pizza, chips, and frozen treats, followed by fun water play where our children and parents jumped in, played, and cooled off together! 💦 Our children also went home with a special treat bag. 🎁

This experience gave our children opportunities to build confidence, practice sharing and cooperation, strengthen relationships, and enjoy quality time with their families. Our parents had the opportunity to connect with their children, other families, and our teachers, while our staff gained an even stronger connection with the families we serve. Most importantly, we were reminded of how much children benefit when families and teachers come together to create positive, meaningful experiences. ❤️

A BIG thank you to all of our amazing parents and families who came out and made our Family Bash so special! We appreciate your continued support and involvement. We hope you're ready because **our Fall Fun Fest is coming soon!** 🍂🎃 We can't wait to make more memories together! 🧡

🎉 NC Pre-K Orientation Week is off to a great start! 🍎✨

We're excited to welcome our new and returning teachers as we prepare for an amazing 2026–2027 school year. From hands-on training to team building, we're laying the foundation for a year of growth, learning, and success for every child.

We can't wait to welcome our students soon, it's going to be a great year! ❤️📚

🌊☀️ Beach Theme Summer Fun!☀️🌊

Our preschoolers had a wonderful day exploring our Beach Theme through hands-on learning and outdoor fun! The children created their own ocean cups, encouraging creativity, fine motor development, and imaginative expression. They also enjoyed outdoor water play, providing opportunities to explore cause and effect, build social skills through cooperative play, and strengthen gross motor skills. To end our fun-filled day, everyone cooled off with a delicious frozen treat while enjoying time together with friends.

These engaging experiences support the NC Foundations for Early Learning and Development, which includes:
🐚 Creative Expression (CD-1):Children use a variety of materials to express ideas and creativity through art.
💦 Health and Physical Development (HPD): Children strengthen gross and fine motor skills through active outdoor play and hands-on activities.
🤝 Emotional and Social Development (ESD): Children practice sharing, cooperating, and building positive relationships with peers during group experiences.
🔍 Cognitive Development (CD):Children explore, observe, and make discoveries through sensory and water play.

Learning is always more meaningful when it's filled with smiles, exploration, and fun! We loved making special summer memories together. 🌞🏖️💙
