Okay, Saline Trap Nation!! It’s time to “get out the vote”, but not for politics, for our SCARECROW displayed in downtown Saline!!

Vote by using this link: https://www.borerchiro.com/vote/
Then, vote for #8 “The Freedom Shooter”.
Vote 1 time each day from Oct 14-21.

The theme is “America 250” and our scarecrow represents celebrating the Bill of Rights that allows the Saline Trapshooting Team to safely compete against local and national trapshooting teams. This group of volunteers creatively designed the “250 Years” as “25 orange targets” meshing the contest theme with a perfect score in trapshooting! Freedom Shooter also has wordplay with “250 Years 'ON TARGET'” as our tagline. He’s dressed in Saline Trap gear and an Uncle Sam top hat. Go ahead, vote for this AWESOME scarecrow!!

Vote DAILY from now until Tuesday, Oct 21st at midnight. Share this post with family, friends, trapshooters, and Hornet Nation!

Our Fall Trap Camp participants are making great progress!! So far, these athletes have:

•earned their SAFE certification
•practiced daily mounts building upper body strength
•learned proper foot stance at each station
•hit a non-moving target
•hit a moving target from stations 2, 3, and 4
•they are currently doing 5 minutes of eye exercises each day
•cleaned a sh***un with a parent and coach
•using a journal to set weekly goals

They are making GREAT progress! Over the final 2 weeks, we are going to see their confidence build and their skills improve. Take a look at 7 of our participants.

We are excited to introduce the 2026 Fall Trap Camp participants. These middle schoolers are in a 6-week, in-depth training on safety and marksmanship. Each week they learn new skills and then practice these skills for one week. They have daily training at home, and have all earned their SAFE certification, learned proper feet placement and mounting position. They have hit non-moving and strait-away targets locked at station 3.

Over the next three weeks, we will be teaching eye exercises, hitting oscillating targets at all stations, how to maintain focus, goal setting and team camaraderie. At the end of successful camp completion, they decide if trapshooting is the sport for them at Saline Area Schools. The Saline Trap coaching staff believes we have some great potential in this group of cadets!!
