So very excited to welcome each of the Miss Saline Scholarship Pageant 2026 contestants over the next several days. Today we welcome Tessa!

Tessa Powers is starting her senior year at Saline High School this fall. She’s a member of Environmental Action Club, Ethics Bowl, Mental Health Club, Trapshooting, and Book Club. She will also be playing in the drumline for the SHS Marching Band. Tessa is a proud member of BSA Troop 439 through the American Legion, where she is working on her Eagle Scout. Tessa’s true passion is welding, and she recently placed first in Michigan for Welding and Fabrication. Welcome Tessa to the Miss Saline Family!

Fall Trap Camp registration is now open! If you have a Saline Middle schooler interested in joining the fastest growing and safest sport in the nation, register now! We have 10 trained and certified Range Safety Officers that will work individually with your son or daughter to learn gun safety and marksmanship in a welcoming atmosphere. We already have 10 participants registered and space is limited to provide quality coaching. Don’t miss this opportunity….Fall Trap Camp is a requirement to join the team next spring.

Saline Trap Team Highlights from National Championship

Day 2 results of the SCTP National Championship are in and we are bringing home some hardware! The Senior Division squad of Johnny Ronayne, Ethan Janeczek, McKenna Heusel, Kaleb Elmer and Evan Seegert combined to take 5th place in the nation with a score of 960/1000.

There were several outstanding performances turned in by Hornets that included:

•Johnny Ronayne hitting 198/200
•Ethan Janeczek hitting 193/200
•Justin Ronayne hitting 193/200
•McKenna Heusel hitting 192/200
•Kaleb Elmer hitting 190/200

McKenna represented Michigan as an All-State athlete in the Senior Division and Justin Ronayne represented Michigan as an All-State athlete in the Intermediate Division. We captured special moments and highlight the graduates that hit their last targets as Saline Hornets. Best wishes to: Captain Evan Seegert, Captain Nathan Dubnicki, Ethan Janeczek, and Garett Wiebusch.

Next up??? The team will welcome Saline Middle Schoolers interested in joining the trapshooting team by offering a required Fall Trap Camp. The 6-week introductory camp teaches the fundamental skills needed to compete on the team. If you have a 6th-8th graders, contact us asap to get more information and to reserve your spot!

Day 1 of the SCTP National Championship is complete, and three Saline athletes have set the stage to stand on the podium with repeat performances on day two.

For only the second time in Saline Trap history, a PERFECT 100/100 score was submitted. Today it was by Johnny Ronayne! Johnny’s younger brother, Justin submitted a 98/100 and sophomore McKenna Heusel submitted the top ladies score of 97/100. Good luck to these 3 Hornets as they pursue a place on the podium. The community of Saline is cheering for you!! We have some great pictures to share…..Goooooo Hornets! 💙💛💙💛
