I found this very interesting and would concur that it is true! Sewing is making a comeback. Folks want to sew their own clothes and learn to use a sewing machine. While I don't have the expert knowledge regarding garment making, I can teach you how to use your sewing machine. I can also show you how to make simple clothing items, pants, wrap skirt, sweatshirt, basic t-shirt and maybe others.

I sometimes ask myself (Paul asks the same thing when he sees how much work and time I put into crafting them) "Why do I make gifts for my retreat attendees?"

Answer: These ladies have become my friends, they are trusting me to have a fantastic, rewarding and productive time and I like blessing them with something handmade.

While my upcoming RoJenDesigns retreat in August is SOLD OUT, there is still room in the October retreat, Friday October 16-18, with a Thursday option.

Well, several "design choices" were made on my Patchwork Kicks shoes! (some folks call them mistakes...whatever) While I LOVE them, sewing through the patchwork and inserting the grommets on the binding was a challenge. I did follow the instructions for the tongue, but after starting to sew the right to the right, It shifted, I took it out, then took a nap, came back refreshed and sewed it in COMPLETELY to the left shoe! 🤦‍♀️ So, I flipped the right tongue upside down and sewed it into the left shoe. It actually turned out fun and funky. See...Design Choice!

Will I teach a class? Ummm...not quite yet. I used Rosie fabric, by Fig Tree & Company.

Here are the other two students bows. So super cute and handsome! The Christmas and Autumn bows are reversible and the grey one is a subtle Christmas fabric on both sides. I'm thinking about making a few of these bows to sell. I'm not sure if my choices of fabrics would be someone else's choice tho. We will see.

The Oversized Quilted Bow class was today and all three, (two students are camera shy) finished their bows in the nick of time and they are adorable. Nope...I didn't get a photo of the other two bows, DARN! Anyway, great class and such creative gals.

Are you signed up for my newsletter? If so, you have already heard about this "private to the friends of Rori Jensen" estate sale. Denise of All Counties Estate Liquidation is opening up a quilter's sewing room to my followers and newsletter folks, THIS MORNING 11:00AM to 1:00PM-ish. There are cabinets full of fabric: batiks, panels, kids, wovens, reproduction, florals at $2.00/yard! There are also some vintage quilt tops, 3 featherweights (I don't know the price or condition) and lots of kits. I tell ya, I have seen the room and there are treasures. True, the fabrics are from the 80's and 90's-ish, but there is some Kaffee Fassett and Anna Marie Horner also. She would like us to have first dibs because she knows I teach quilting/sewing. You Lucky Friends! IF there is anything left....shop...shop...shop...she will list the sale for this weekend.
See you at 11:00AM. Yes, I didn't buy anything when I saw it a couple of weeks ago, but I've been thinking about it.
She asked if we are a nice bunch of folks and I told her there will not be any girl-fabric-fights!!! 😍🤣🙏🧵🪡✂️

Last week when the weather was so gorgeous, I found some time on the weekend to sit on the front porch and work on some big stitch quilting on a class sample, Flowering Snowball.
