The College offers the first and second year of a college program and awards the associate of arts/sciences degrees and certificates of proficiency. The college also provides vocational training, Work Force and Community Development classes, Contract Education and numerous cultural and recreational activities. The computer center is available to students for class and assignment use and provides a

ccess to the Internet and the World Wide Web. The College has transfer agreements with many California State University (CSU) and University of California (UC) campuses which guarantee admission for Hartnell students who have completed the two year requirements. Hartnell is sensitive to its diverse community and offers modified format courses to meet the needs of students who work or have other outside commitments. Modified format courses include those that began after the regular semester, at the lunch hour, prior to 8 a.m., or are offered in a condensed format. Hartnell provides off-campus courses at numerous locations in north and south Monterey County.

These past two days, we had the honor of welcoming faculty and staff back on campus for our Fall 2026 Student Success Conference. Both days were dedicated to professional development and preparing for the semester ahead.

A huge thank you to Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, Chancellor of Austin Community College District, for joining us and sharing his powerful mantra: "Loving Our Students to Success."

All Hartnell Community College District locations will be closed Friday, August 21, 2026 for a Professional Development Day.

The District will be open and provide services on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 9:00 am to 1:00pm and operations will resume as normal on Monday, August 24, 2026.

Thatā€™s a wrap on our 2026 Summer Academies! šŸ¾

This year was one for the books, with more than 200 Panthers joining us for a week dedicated to building confidence, strengthening academic skills, and preparing for a successful fall semester. This summer was especially exciting as we welcomed students to our first-ever Summer Writing Academy.

Beyond math and writing, our Panthers also connected with faculty, staff, resources, and fellow students, building relationships that will continue long after the academy ends.

Thank you to our faculty, staff, and Panther Learning Lab team for creating such a welcoming experience for our students. Hereā€™s to a great start to the new academic year! šŸ’«

With building community in mind, the King City Education Center, Soledad Education Center, and the main campus helped welcome and onboard almost 500 students during Panther Connect ā€“ La Bienvenida. Our first-time college students learned hands on about our support programs, toured our campuses, met peer mentors, and participated in workshops to help better navigate college life.

Fall semester is right around the corner, and weā€™re proud to know our new Panthers are starting it ready. They are not just enrolled, but also connected.

Kudos to the Student Equity and Pathways department, Student Success Specialists, Salinas Valley Promise program, Office of Student Life, Office of Basic Needs, student volunteers, and the entire Family for making this welcome possible! šŸ¾
