One man. One film. Many stories. And tornadoes. We used to have 3 channels on television, and one played a cowbell whenever there was a storm watch or warning.

Tornadoes Through Time
FENT'S POST PRODUCTIONS LLC·THURSDAY, MARCH 22, 2018·

Radar wasn’t very advanced and the only chasers were media or law enforcement personnel. It was thought that the low pressure inside a tornado caused houses to explode and people were told to open their wi

RIP Frank Beard. He drummed out those Texas boogie tunes for 60 years with ZZ Top. Billy is the last of the original trio. Their 1973 album, Tres Hombres, is a classic.

This Week in Weather — August 11 to August 16

This week a weaker jet will come down out of the northwest from central Canada into New England. This will focus the rain and storms in the vicinity of the jet and just to it's south where more moisture and instability will reside.

Tuesday the SPC has a risk for severe storms out over parts of South Dakota, as well as the Midwest from Iowa to Virginia. More storms look likely across western and central Nebraska on Wednesday, northern Minnesota on Friday, and the lower Great Lakes into parts of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic by Sunday.

Warmer than normal temps are likely across the central and eastern part of the country south of that jet. Cooler than normal temps will set up in the Rockies and western states. This will be welcome to help fight forest fires in the Northwest, but it won't be enough without some much needed rain. Most of the beneficial rain in that region will stay up in Alberta.

It will be very dry in areas like northern California and in the vicinity of the Ark-La-Tex region. Sunshine will be dominant from Arkansas through the southwest and southern California.

The Atlantic is starting to look a little more interesting with the NHC watching 3 areas for possible development. The area with the greatest chance for development should be approaching the Lesser Antilles in about a week. Similarly, another system may develop and approach Hawaii at about the same time.
