Investing in local students means investing in the future of our community. Kansas Wesleyan's Saline County Guarantee makes higher education more accessible, by guaranteeing students from our home county a minimum of $80,000 in undergraduate scholarships over four years.
This incredible commitment helps reduce financial barriers while encouraging talented local students to stay close to home and pursue their future. Opportunities like this strengthen our workforce, support families and demonstrate KWU's dedication to the success of Saline County and the region. As part of their Community Health Clinical experience, senior nursing students from are gaining hands-on public health experience at the Saline County Health Department — connecting classroom knowledge with real-world community care.
Today, student Grace Pierce had the chance to turn the tables and provide her professor with their annual TB skin test… and absolutely nailed it (though we expected nothing less 👏)!
Experiences like these help prepare the next generation of nurses while strengthening the connection between healthcare education and community wellness.
If you or your family need TB skin testing, immunizations, or other preventive health services, don’t forget about the incredible work being done every day at the Saline County Health Department — a valuable resource serving our community.
