Salina Central High School

Students and faculty from Salina Central High School were recently nominated for the Music Theatre of Wichita Jester Awards. The Jester Awards honor excellence in high school musical theatre. The award recognizes the extraordinary amount of work, creativity, and dedication that students and faculty pour into their high school theatrical productions. The students and faculty nominated were:
Aaron Dix - Best Actor
Xan Mattek - Best Actress
Dawson Maring - Stage Lighting
Best Stage Crew lead by Alex Wilson
Ryan Holmquist - Vocal Music Direction
Ken Hakoda - Orchestra
Bill Weaver - Scenic

Salina Robotics Team 3172 was invited to attend the FIRST Robotics World Championships in St Louis, MO Apr. 27-30! This prestigious competition brings together high school robotics teams from across the globe to share in an unprecedented weekend of competition, creativity and problem solving. The team was 2nd runner up at the Kansas City FIRST Regional earlier this Spring. While the team is honored and grateful for the opportunity to compete in the World Championships, this season they are not able to attend. Thanks to all our current sponsors and supporters!

Congratulations to Grace Claman. Grace is the student of the week for Central High School.

Construction changes are happening at Central at a very fast pace. We are excited about the construction, but with new additions there will be some inconveniences. Starting on Monday, February 29, there will be no more thru traffic between the north and south portions of our parking lot. Students can still be picked up and dropped off in the north parking lot. All student parking during the day has been shifted to the south parking lot. The main office is now located in the concourse. Visitor parking is available in the north parking lot accessed from Crawford.

Congratulations to the Salina Central Girls basketball team on winning the 2016 SIT.

Congratulations to the Salina Central Boys and Girls basketball teams for winning their 1st round games last night at the SIT tournament. The Central girls will play Andover today at 2:00 pm at Kansas Wesleyan and the Central boys will play Andover today at 7:15 pm at Kansas Wesleyan.
