Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at CCMS! This year we hosted our first Stone Soup Friendsgiving. The children showcased their food preparation skills and we all gathered with our families for a meal and fellowship! Families also brought contributions to Christ Cathedral Episcopal Church’s Welcome Table, and a pot of soup was shared with them for a warm meal this week! We have much to be thankful for!

CCMS is excited to host our first annual golf tournament! All proceeds will go towards new bathroom renovations. If you don’t golf, or can’t attend there are sponsorship opportunities too! We are so grateful for our community and the constant generosity and support of our program! Thank you!

Happy Montessori Day! Today we celebrate Dr. Maria Montessori’s 151st Birthday as we get ready for school to start next week! We are having 27 new student orientations this week and are excited for another year at Christ Cathedral Montessori School!

What a wonderful way to celebrate the end of our first year! The children sang a cumulation of songs to highlight many parts of our year and we recognized all of the children as they all move onto new roles next year! A special congratulations to our preschool graduates, class of 2034 and our kindergarten graduates, class of 2033.

Yesterday we took a walk from school, down Sante Fe and did our own little sculpture tour ending at a couple of Salina’s great parks. The children enjoyed the art and we had endless giggles and constant smiles! I even heard a store employee said in excitement - “oh I hear children!” We love being right in the heart of Salina’s growing downtown, and are excited to do even more downtown next year!

Yesterday we enjoyed our first annual spring tea
party. This is an annual event we host each spring to showcase all our work from throughout the school year. The children have been working hard on their grace and courtesy and showcased their lessons and work to their guest. We have been studying stained glass so children shared their artwork, and each child arranged a small flower arrangement. A couple of weeks ago we were fortunate enough to to have a local guest who previously lived in England come and give us a cultural lesson on tea and how to have a proper tea party. So the children were real professionals when it came to hosting a tea party. The children made cinnamon rolls to go with their tea and went along with the parable of yeast. To end our event some of the readers shared a variety of readers theatre performances by Dr. Seuss, who we studied back in March.
